DeltaServer supports many types of media, effects, and controls resources that can be programmed on timelines to create a dynamic show . Resource categories are summarized below.
Some resource types have associated supporting user-loaded or factory example files located at specific locations on the server's hard disks. For such cases, resource locations are discussed in followup sections, or in section Preferences > Disk Drive Configuration.

DeltaServer specializes in uncompressed IMAGE SEQUENCE PLAYBACK. Please read on to the Movies section for critical advise related to this concept. |

2D image warp tools. Geometry is generally assigned to the "Background" layer where it affects the output channels to displays for working with odd projection angles or varied projection surface shapes. Alternatively, some geometry types can be applied to a specific media layer, so warping the content itself before sending on to the media canvas and output channels. Geometry is most commonly applied statically (being in affect at all times), but some geometry types can be dynamically morphed between states down the timeline. |
Realtime image sources captured via hardware video capture devices (if supported hardware is installed) or various network stream types like NDI. |
Loop: Restart playing at the start of the timeline. Stop: Stop playing at this point on the timeline. Goto: Jump to a specific frame (or Marker). Comment: Add user notes to the layer. Marker: Named marker, allowing interactive or external control to go to that point. Placeholder: A placeholder reserves a space on the timeline to be allocated to media. GUI Beep: An audible beep on the DeltaGUI PC only. Load Show: Load a different show at this point on the timeline. Sequence: Call a sequence at a point on the timeline. Section: Show a part of the timeline in a user-set colour to highlight it. |

The text resource is a simple way of generating frame accurate dynamic text/titling/captions. The font, size, colour, animation and location can be specified for each resource. The Timecode text resource will generate text representing current timecode of the timeline it's placed on. Similarly, the Movie Timecode resource will generate text representing current timecode of the start of a given movie, when placed on the same layer in scope of a given movie. |
External devices can be contolled via serial (or UDP) on a frame accurate basis by placing serial events on the timeline. |
On an individual left/right/top/bottom channel edge basis, the light taper and edge geometry can be manipulated to allow for blending of multiple projectors into a seamless canvas. It could also be used for edge smoothing / masking. |
Per-channel color adjustment tools for gain, offset, and gamma curve. Some parameters can be applied on a RGB per-color-channel basis, or to all colors simultaneou, or fading to just half the channel for progressive projector edge matching. |
The Spline resource defines a path over which visual resources on that layer will be animated with programmatic timing. |
Art-Net input and output controls allow interaction with external DMX over Ethernet devices, such as lighting, smoke or motion systems. |
Containers are a tool for producing a simple playlisted/looping movie sequence at a specific location within the greater timeline & canvas |
Expandable library of advanced effects including OpenGL Colour, Image, Transition Effects and Notch Effects (with 3rd party license). |
