Actor as a Compere Performer role, requires appropriate Codemeter licences on the Actor media servers. The Actor features in Compere for the media servers are the render engine itself, input and output feed management, asset management, and show timelines. Licence details can be seen in an Actor front panel display.
This guide describes the features of Actor in Compere.
Actor media servers, typically 7thSense R-Series or P-Series range, are connected into a common network. They are added to a Project Group using the Compere Network Configuration panel (see M760 Compere UI User Guide). Each Actor will then be listed in the Compere Project, and is configurable there.
Actor Media Servers in a Project System
Actor media servers can be used alone or in small groups to deliver shows managed by Compere, out to HDMI or DisplayPort. They can also be used scaled up to very large venues, displays and resolutions when used to provide inputs to Juggler pixel processor systems. All performers in the range are ST 2110 capable, making them suitable for the very largest installations.
The workflow for building up Compere systems will therefore vary according to all the performers in the Project Group. All 7thSense devices in the project are listed in the Project panel under ‘Devices’, clustered by type. Each is a fully configurable node in the overall system (select and view the properties panel).
When Jugglers are involved, these become the processors for the entire canvas of pixels, with other performers as inputs, and the Jugglers provide the required outputs for display. (See Configure a Display with Juggler in the Compere user guide.)
Without Jugglers, Actors capture inputs and/or pre-rendered media and play timelines. In all cases, Actor outputs are configured to place pixels captured from their inputs on their GPU outputs. (See Video I/O Feed Management.)
