In the 7thSense ‘performer’ range, Actor® is the media server, stage-managed by Compere® to play a scripted show of media sources and display outputs, on timelines.
Actor media servers can operate as single units, project grouped to increase the number of available GPU outputs, or scaled right up by feeding them into Juggler pixel processors. In all scenarios, the project group, all configuration, the timeline building and playback is handled by Compere. The Actor render engine runs on all clients and the full Compere UI runs on a control PC. Any other member of the Project Group can act as the group server.
The key elements to Actor are:
➢asset management, ingest and media transformation
➢timeline building and playback (render engine)
➢input and output feed management.
Actor runs on each media server in a Compere Project Group, running timelines created through the Compere user interface on a control PC.
