Front Panel Control and Display

The front panel display is a touch-screen controller for the server, with varied functionality depending on the version,  whether its been configured for the role of communicating with Delta, Actor or Conjurer.

Once the system is booted, the front panel periodically switches between an interactive interface, and a screensaver splash video.

The splash video is hosted locally on the front panel's onboard Linus OS, while the interactive interface is actual rendering a webpage hosted by a background utility, Watchdog.exe, which runs on the Windows OS at startup.  Some Watchdog versions offer a small interface in the Windows system tray: watchdog-icon

Prior to Watchdog Version 1.0.12, if the assigned role's associated primary media application (Delta, Actor, Conjurer) was running and failed for any reason, Watchdog would will automatically restart it (hence the Watchdog name). To stop this behavior, click the Watchdog icon and select ‘Disengage’. The auto-restart is resumed by selecting ‘Engage’.  The auto-restart is automatically re-enabled upon restart of the system or Watchdog.exe.

The current production build of Watchdog (1.0.13) serves a very limited featureset to the front panel interface.  It is essentially limited to NDI Preview:
