Status Bar

The status bar has three colour states indicating network status:

grey  : offline (will be a client). Since it is disconnected, any information may be residual from the last online state.

blue  : online and in a project group that has a server.

red  : you should be online, but there is a problem. A warning triangle on the right will also show in the status bar (and the Network Discovery panel): hover over it to see what the problem is (e.g.: ‘Project group has no server’, or not receiving peer data from one or more peers – the tooltip will show expected versus actual).

Device status

The right hand side of the status bar carries information about the current instance of Compere on the network.

status-net-config

Here, the device can be switched to offline, and by doing so will make the device a client and the status bar will go grey. The device remains in the project group, but will not receive or share any project file updates. Switching back on, the device will join as a client and receive the current project file.

Group members

Project group peer information is on the left side of the status bar:

This shows other devices by type.

Alerts

On the left side of the status bar, alerts, warnings and information can be found:

status-alerts-members

Hover over an alert to see its detail.

Property paths

Property paths will be displayed to the right of status information when any properties panel label is hovered over.

Paths are an essential part of writing external controls. These can become quite long, and will be truncated (...) from the middle so that stem and final segment are identifiable.
