Overview
Medialon Network Utilities MXM provides different commands
for network management and system informations retrieving.
MxM Installation
No specific installation.
Device Setup
No creation window.
Device Commands
The commands marked with * are not available in Showmaster.
Wake On Lan
To switch on a computer by the LAN.
- Mac Address: [String] Mac address of the computer to switch on.
- Net Address: [String] Broadcast address of the network adapter used.
Ping
To send a ping request to a computer.
- Address: [String] Address of the computer to ping.
Get IP address
To retrieve the IP address of a computer.
- Host name: [String] Name of the computer.
- Return address: [String] Variable that will contain the name in return.
Get IP port number
To retrieve the port number assigned to a service ( for example, the port number for
the FTP service is generally 21).
- Service name: [String] Name of the service.
- Return port: [Integer] Variable that will contain the port value in return.
Reset remote serial port*
To close a serial port on the network previously opened by another computer.
- Manufacturer: [Enum] Type of serial port.
- “Moxa”: The remote serial port is a NPort Server Moxa series.
- “Comtrol”: The remote serial port is a DeviceMaster Comtrol series.
- Port number: [Integer] Number of the port to close.
- Password: [String] Password for the query (used for Moxa, not used for Comtrol).
Get System Info*
Returns system informations.
- Info Type: [Enum] Type of system information.
- “User Name”: retrieves the current logged user name.
- “Computer Name”: retrieves the name of the computer.
- “Domain Name”: retrieves the domain name on which is the computer.
- “OS Name”: retrieves the OS name.
- Return Info: [String] Variable that will contain the information in return.
Note: Retreiving some system informations can failed depending
on the rights of the current logged user (Error Acces Denied).
Get MAC Address
Returns the MAC address corresponding to the given IP Address.
- IP Address: [String] IP Address of the target
machine. If this parameter is empty the address of the
local machine is used.
- Return MAC Address: [String] Variable
that will contain the MAC Address in return.
Note: If the command fails, the Return MAC Address variable is set to ‘000000000000’.
Device Variables
CommandStatus
[Enum] Reflects the status of the current command.
- “Success”: No command pending, the last command was succesful
- “Pending”: A command is in progress
- “Error”: a command error occured
- “Timeout”: a timeout command error occured.
Usage: This variable can be read for checking
if the current command has been completed.
LastCommandResult
[String] Contains a litteral description of the result of the last command sent.
